Annual Charity Event at Thornton Reservoir

This year’s annual charity relay run at Thornton Reservoir will take place on Saturday, 21st July

Annual Charity event at Thornton June 15

Over the years, Beaumont Running Club has raised thousands of pounds for a range of national and local charities with its annual Thornton Reservoir Relay Run. The idea is very simple. Get some friends and club members together and sign up to run as a group at a preferred timeslot during the day to ensure the relay keeps going. The minimum for a group is two people.

While this event is organised by Beaumont Running Club we encourage anyone wanting to take part to email Frank by clicking here or contacting us through our Facebook page here

Use the link to the spreadsheet above to sign up for when you will be running. Min 2 runners per group. Use a comma to separate names of runners.

Each scenic circuit of the reservoir is 2.25 miles takes between 16 to 30 minutes depending on the group. As soon as one group is back the next group sets-off. Groups usually come to socialise and run over a 90 minute period as part of their “contribution”. You can choose to do the one lap or as many as your group runs. It is very informal, great fun and for a fantastic cause.

Each runner donates £5 and we encourage gift aid to boost the final total. Donating is through our Club’s JustGiving page or donate on the day by cash!

We will have an event gazebo by the anglers’ hut on the left-hand-side of the reservoir and will offer shelter, first aid, hot and cold water, tea, coffee, and light snacks. Please bring cakes or your preferred eats. Time to sit and chill, chat and then run!

We can time your lap (most will use their running watch of course) if you let us know, and the fastest lap of the day will be noted for fun.

So, make sure you sign up and keep your fingers crossed for decent weather on the day!

Many thanks
